Summary:

When I was eleven, my best friend died in a car accident. When I was twelve, my mom walked out, leaving only a note to say goodbye. When I was eighteen, I was forced into witness protection.

My new name is Shyanne Adams. To protect myself, and painless existence, I do not live. I do not laugh. I do not love. For the last three years, the only meaningful thing I’ve done is care for the horse I rescued.

But now, at the age of twenty-one, the one person from both my past and present is pushing me to start living. Before I know it, I’m moving in with new friends who make me laugh. And next door is Kade Cross, the guy who wants me to love.

Kade knows that I will complicate his life, but he welcomes the challenge. He sees that I’m broken, but he doesn’t try to fix me. When he knows I’m trying to push him away, he braces for the impact.

What Kade doesn’t know is that I could have to relocate at any time. So I have to decide: is experiencing love for a short time worth the pain of losing it?
This New Adult Romance is an emotional journey through pain and healing as Shyanne decides to start living again, but never forgetting she could lose this life… just like her last one.

My Thoughts:

Hi everyone and welcome back to Katie’s Corner! Today I have a book, which I received from publisher in exchange for an honest review. So, well, all the thought that I will write here are my own and I won’t be exaggerating anything. Now let me get back to the review. I can’t say I didn’t like the book, but I didn’t really enjoy it so much. I men, I lost the interest at least twice and I had this could-you-make-some-development king of feeling. I understand that the author’s main focus was Shy’s feelings and her emotional trauma. But while I always wail that there’s not much if interaction between the lovers, her it was too much. The “action” starts at nearly the end of the book, and I couldn’t really call it action. It was too fast. One thing that I can say certainly is that the author got better at the end of the book. I could finally feel Shy’s emotions; maybe it was because I had a whole picture, but I just think that author her niche and knew how to portray Shyanne.

There are many interesting characters; thought 90% of them frustrated me a lot. Two of them were Adrian and Keegan – a silly couple. I really didn’t get Adrian, was he a bit masochistic or what? I breathed a sign of relief when in the Epilogue he left for Texas. Though I would have [referred him to go to Mexico. Keegan if you ask me is the worst character; her but-I-am-giving-you-free-excitement attitude never even put a smile on my face. I just wanted to slap her and give her a lecture on proper behavior. It had been a long time since a character annoyed me so much. I think the best character was Kade, tough he’s a tad weird for wanting all of that in his life. But I forgive him, because he was in love. What I did like about him was his attitude and perfect behavior. Though you might find his stunts a bit annoying, like crawling into Shy’s bed, he still left me with good impression. He was what 21, 22? How the hell was he so mature? Most of the guys that I know of that age are still like high-school kids, just pretending to act mature.

Another great thing that this novel has is, how it described the starting of Kade’s and Shy’s relationship. I really liked it. How one was on defensive and another on offensive, how Kade finally slipped thought the walls of Shy’s heart/ thought she did make one thing that made me scream, but I’m not spoiling that too. It’s better to read for yourself. As I always say, my reviews are reflections of my and only my thoughts, and my opinions doesn’t clash with everyone else’s all that often. You may find this book one o the best romances ever, that’s your opinion, but first give it a chance, don’t overlook it just because it didn’t meet my expectations. (And those are always pretty high and not always met fully)

Enjoy it to its fullest! Get to know some great characters and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more on Katie’s Corner! Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga. Happy reading!

XOXO
