Summary:

A riveting new story from Cat Patrick, author of Forgottenand Revived.

17-year-olds Lizzie, Ella, and Betsey Best grew up as identical triplets... until they discovered a shocking family secret. They're actually closer than sisters, they're clones. Hiding from a government agency that would expose them, the Best family appears to consist of a single mother with one daughter named Elizabeth. Lizzie, Ella, and Betsey take turns going to school, attending social engagements, and a group mindset has always been a de facto part of life...

Then Lizzie meets Sean Kelly, a guy who seems to see into her very soul. As their relationship develops, Lizzie realizes that she's not a carbon copy of her sisters; she's an individual with unique dreams and desires, and digging deeper into her background, Lizzie begins to dismantle the delicate balance of an unusual family that only science could have created.

My Thoughts:

It was my first encounter with Cat Patrick's books. And this book was why, I after read her other works. I really liked, even loved the book. Why? Because, it was really original. Clones? the only thing that got in my mind before reading the book was the movie The Island ( it's about clones) so I was really interested to read it.

Living your own life fully is not always enough, and sometimes we imagine we are other person, even have a second personality. But imagine, you live just a third of your or may I say somebody else's life? It's disturbing, it's not  enough, and you know it, and you try to become yourself, to find yourself. and now just imagine, that you have 2 identical sisters which live this life with you. And now just imagine that somebody can really see you, not just your shell which your "mom" made you but you, who can identify you from your sisters, and make you want more. That's what happens in Originals and much more. Lizzie is the one who is the protagonist, and it is her thoughts that we read in the book. and it is Sean who sees her. Really sees her. Not Elizabeth Best but Lizzie and only Lizzie.

In the hunt for this awesome project for making clones, girls will find their opportunity to make themselves separate lives, and their "mom" will not be able to refuse them. They will get the lives they deserve, they will get lives, where they will be the ones in charge, where there won't be any shell, and where they won't share a life with others.

The book has it's action, but it is the topic and question that is really interesting. It is seeing life from a triplet's side, the book gives us something new, actually it gives us the only thing that we have to understand and remember, our life is only ours, and we shall not hide in shelves, we need to come out, be be US, plain us. and that is the best gift ever.

I think it is one book, that a teenager should read, even if he/she won't like it too much, it's not because of love story to read, but because of the idea of it. and I will be really glad, if I see some of your feelings regarding this book, and your ideas about it. Happy Reading!! :)) enjoy :))
